I recently realized that saving money can actually be a way to relieve stress!
I used to be so busy that I would often order Uber Eats just to save time, but lately I’ve been using it less and less. I found that relying on it too much can lead to a vicious cycle.
I’ve since learned to make some simple yet tasty meals—like pan-fried chicken or a fried egg with toast and cheese. Not only does it save money, it also doesn’t take much time to prepare. Plus, the act of cooking helps me take my mind off work for a bit, which is actually a form of stress relief (as long as there’s nothing super urgent going on at work).
After all, we work to make money, and most of the time, it’s in pursuit of financial freedom—so it’s only natural that financial pressure builds up. But income changes don’t usually happen overnight, especially for those of us with regular jobs, so it takes time.
We can’t easily change fixed costs like rent, and the next biggest expense is usually food. One of my goals this year is to cook at home as much as possible. It’s healthier, too!
