Have you ever needed a feature like the ability to type text with one hand?

Or have you ever needed to write text, press buttons, with only one hand?

Don't say no right away.

This is an additional feature, and it wouldn't hurt to have it. It improves the responsiveness of the interface, and the user experience with the keyboard.

What's the problem here?

The thing is that to type a capital letter, for example, you need to hold down the Shift key. Or, for example, to type some symbols, such as: !?@%(),, you also need to hold down the Shift key.

Okay, how can I type this then?

There are two solutions for this:

Sticky Keys in Windows

So, the first way is to use the built-in functionality of Windows, which is called Sticky Keys.

But for this to work, it must first be enabled. Sticky Keys mode is enabled if you press the Shift key many times. Then a terrible beep appears, and a window opens that asks: Enable Sticky Keys mode?
If you answer Yes, then modifier keys such as Shift, Ctrl, Win, Alt will be sticky.
This means that when you release these keys, they are not actually released, but remain pressed.
Then you can press some other key, letter, or symbol.

But at the same time, you cannot use the keyboard normally, because these keys are stuck.
To be able to use the keyboard normally, you need to exit this Sticky Keys mode.

To do this, you need to press Shift many times, then there will be a terrible sound signal again, and a window will appear: Disable Sticky Keys?

Of course, this is very long, you need to press Shift many times, plus hear a terrible sound signal, beep, plus disable it again. It is unlikely that anyone will ever use this.

Therefore, most likely, messages sent, for example, will look all lowercase, without commas, !? signs, and () brackets, which does not look good. No users will enable Sticky Keys.

Sticky Keys in QuickHotkeys

The second way is to use Sticky Keys in QuickHotkeys.

To do this, you need to install the QuickHotkeys program first.

Install this program now (it's free) to see how it works, just to check this functionality (you can always uninstall it later).

So, once it's installed, let's continue.

It works like this:
You don't need to enable Sticky Keys here, because it's already enabled.

So, how can I type a capital letter, and the characters !?,():?

It's very simple - just press Shift, don't hold it, release it, and then press the letter that you want to type with a capital letter, or a symbol.

The keys will be released automatically. The keyboard works exactly as before, nothing glitches. It just added some additional functionality. Now you can type capital letters, commas, !? symbols, and () brackets, with one hand.

Note: Just press quickly, not with a large interval between presses. It is assumed that you will have time to press the key after Shift in a second.

There is a timeout between pressing Shift and pressing the key. Which is by default equal to one second. And if you do not have time to press the key in a second, then Shift will be released.

Shift, Ctrl, Win, Alt - do not stick for long, but only a little, for one second, then they are released automatically.
The timeout can be changed in the settings. But usually a second is a normal interval, and there is no need to change it.

Now, you can write well-formatted messages, use capital letters in the text, and various symbols, such as !?@$,:().

You can also press hotkeys, such as save Ctrl+S.
Now, try to save files like this, and not by holding Ctrl+S at the same time.

Now it is not necessary to hold the keys at the same time, because they stick a little.

This does not affect the work in any way, does not harm or interfere. Everything works as before.
It just becomes much more convenient to press the keys.

In QuickHotkeys there is not only Sticking keys, but many many other productivity features that allow you to work quickly, conveniently, and efficiently.

So, be sure to check out the Youtube channel about this, and check out the rest of the features in action.
