🚀 TL;DR
I built Hirenga, a lightweight ATS powered by AI, designed specifically for small teams. Upload CVs, track applicants visually, and automate boring stuff like rejection emails — no HR experience required.
👋 The Problem We Faced
We’re a small team. No HR department. No recruiter.
Just regular people trying to hire without going insane.
We’d post a job → get dozens of CVs → lose track of who applied, who we replied to, and who we forgot entirely.
We tried several ATS platforms… and most of them were just too much.
Too many features, too many steps, and too much of a price tag.
🧠 So I built Hirenga
I didn’t need a full HR suite. I just needed:
- A clean Kanban-style hiring board
- A way to upload CVs and parse them fast
- Some help from AI to rank applicants
- And something to stop me from writing the same rejection email 20 times
So I decided to build it. I called it Hirenga.
Tech Stack
- Backend: Laravel (PHP)
- Frontend: Blade + Alpine.js
- AI Integration: OpenAI API for CV parsing, scoring, and email generation
- Deployment: DigitalOcean
- Database: MySQL
No overengineering. Just built to solve the problem now.
Key Features
- Upload PDF CVs → Get parsed + scored
- Kanban view to move candidates through stages
- AI-written rejection emails (customizable)
- Job application form builder + embeddable anywhere
- No learning curve — usable in 5 minutes
🎯 My Launch Goal
I’m launching with a $1,000 marketing budget and aiming to hit $1,000 in revenue just to validate.
If it works, I’ll double down. If it doesn’t, at least I learned a ton.
🤝 Let’s Connect
If you’ve ever built something because everything else sucked, I’d love to see it.
