As developers, we often work on products that optimize workflows, boost productivity, or solve technical problems, but some projects go beyond that and aim to make a direct social impact.

One project I’ve been involved with recently is beca-ritacetina.com.mx — a scholarship platform focused on providing financial support to students across Mexico, especially young women and underrepresented groups.

🧠 The Tech Behind It
We built the platform with a focus on accessibility and simplicity. Some key features:

Mobile-first design (most users access via mobile)

Fast load times, optimized for rural internet connections

Clear form flows for scholarship applications

Backend integrations with education databases and local programs

It's not a fancy tech stack — just solid, purposeful code with a mission behind it.

👩‍💻 Why It Matters
A lot of students in Mexico lose educational opportunities due to lack of information or bureaucratic barriers. By streamlining how they discover and apply for scholarships, we're trying to remove friction and create opportunity — one application at a time.

🚀 Open to Feedback
I’d love to hear thoughts from other devs working on socially focused projects, or just interested in building tools that help real people.

Happy to answer questions or share more on how we approached certain parts of the build.
