Hey developers, AI enthusiasts, and prompt engineers! 👋
We’ve been quietly working behind the scenes, and today, we’re beyond excited to unveil a major update that we believe will supercharge your AI development workflows:
The Promplify API is now live!
At Promplify, we’ve always believed that managing prompts shouldn’t feel like managing sticky notes scattered across different models and platforms. Whether you’re working on GPT-4, Claude, or other LLMs, prompts are the foundation of your AI applications, and keeping them organized, versioned, and accessible is critical for scaling any serious AI project.
But we wanted to take this one step further.
We know many of you don’t just want to store your prompts — you want to integrate them directly into your products, experiments, and pipelines.
So here it is:
The Promplify API — Programmatically Access and Manage Your Prompts
🌟 What’s New?
🔌 RESTful API Integration
You can now access all your prompts directly through a simple, well-documented RESTful API. This allows you to integrate Promplify into your existing applications, agent frameworks, or any automated workflows. Fetch prompts as part of your backend logic, connect to your AI agents, or plug them into your CI/CD pipelines — it’s totally up to you.
🔄 Version Control for Stability
Every prompt in Promplify is versioned. Need a specific version for a production environment?
No problem — the API supports fetching specific prompt versions to ensure consistent behavior across your deployments.
Example:
GET https://api.promplify.com/prompts/{promptId}?version=1.0.0
If no version is provided, the latest version is returned, giving you flexibility in your integration.
🔐 Secure Access with Bearer Tokens
Security is a priority. All API endpoints are protected via Bearer token authentication, so your prompts remain private and accessible only to your authorized applications.
📦 Clean JSON Responses, Packed with Details
The API returns a structured JSON response including:
- Prompt title, description, and content
- Version information
- Associated model, temperature, max tokens
- Token counts for optimization insights
- Created_at and updated_at timestamps
Here’s an example of how easy it is to fetch a prompt via curl
:
curl --location 'https://api.promplify.com/prompts/E72BD69E-A116-497F-94C4-7DE6606A77BE?version=2.1.0' \\
--header 'Authorization: Bearer your-api-token'
💡 Why Build This API?
Promplify started as a simple way to organize and optimize prompts. But as more developers joined the platform, we realized something:
- Some were building AI agents and needed dynamic prompt loading.
- Others were integrating multiple LLMs and needed version control.
- Some wanted to monitor token usage across different prompts and models.
The API is our answer to these growing needs.
Now, Promplify isn’t just a tool for managing prompts — it’s your prompt engine, seamlessly powering your AI stack from development to production.
