Hey Dev Community!
I’m Aryan, and I just recently started my journey to become a full-time cross-platform app developer. As someone who’s still learning JavaScript basics and building mini-projects, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking (and researching) about where the tech world stands in 2025 — and how I can find my place in it.
📉 The Reality: Fewer Entry-Level Jobs, More Uncertainty
Let’s be honest — breaking into tech right now feels harder than it did a few years ago.
There’s a lot of talk about layoffs, AI replacing jobs, and junior roles disappearing. I definitely felt that pressure when I started researching app development.
But the more I’ve looked into it, the more hopeful I’ve become. Here’s why 👇
🔥 What I’m Noticing in Tech (As a Beginner)
1️⃣ AI Isn’t Replacing Us — It’s Working With Us
One of the big headlines this year was the launch of tools like Gemini Code Assist. These AI helpers don’t replace your need to code — they just make it faster and more efficient.
As a beginner, I see it like this:
Learning the core concepts is still essential, but AI is becoming a helpful teammate — not a threat.
2️⃣ Cross-Platform Dev Is Getting Even More Powerful
Since I want to build for both Android and iOS, I looked into Flutter, React Native, and Kotlin Multiplatform.
It turns out the demand for cross-platform developers is still strong — especially in startups and smaller teams who want to save time and resources by building one app for both platforms.
It feels good to know I’m learning something that’s actually needed!
3️⃣ Learning in Public Helps More Than You Think
I’ve decided to:
- Post my progress every few days
- Push daily code to GitHub
- Write occasional reflections like this blog post
It’s a small way to keep myself accountable, but also connect with other beginners and professionals. If you’re also learning, try it out. You’ll be surprised who notices.
💬 Final Thoughts from a Newbie Developer
2025 might not look like the perfect year to break into tech, but I believe it’s still one of the most exciting.
Tech is evolving fast, and there’s room for people who are willing to keep learning and adapting.
So if you're starting from scratch like me:
✅ Take it one day at a time
✅ Build tiny things consistently
✅ Share your journey
✅ Stay curious and keep going
Let’s grow together! 🙌
If you’re reading this and have tips or beginner-friendly resources, I’d love to hear from you.
